The 1769-ARM is a Compact I/O module used to maintain module order of a CompactLogix system. Use the 1769-ARM module by installing in the slot of an inhibited module. This reserves the slot and helps maintain a valid configuration without reconfiguring the whole CompactLogix system.
The module helps increase machine or process uptime. If a Compact I/O module becomes defective and requires uninstallation the system cannot operate unless the module is returned or hardware is reconfigured. With hardware reconfiguration, possible readdressing may be needed which proves to be a tedious task. With the use or the 1769-ARM, it fills the vacant slot left by the defective module. The defective module only needs to be inhibited with the use of the programming software to maintain a valid configuration and maintain an operable system.
The 1769-Address reserve Module may be used with a CompactLogix and MicroLogix system. The module is directly configured as it is in the CompactLogix through RSLogix 5000 software. If used with a MicroLogix controller. The 1769-ARM is used as a generic module.
The module occupies a single slot in the chassis. It carries c-UL, CE and C-Tick certifications. It has physical dimensions of 118 x 35 x 87 mm (4.65 x 1.38 x 3.43 in.) and Height with mounting tabs of 138 mm (5.43 in.). The module supports DIN rail or Panel mounting as the whole CompactLogix or MicroLogix supports.
It has a power supply distance rating of 8 modules and compatible for use with 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4 and 1769-PB4 power supplies.
VIIIVThe 1769-ARM is a Compact I/O module which means Address Reserve Module (ARM). The ARM module is installed in an inhibited slot in place of a module.
