The 1769-IG16 is a Compact I/O module used to receive low-level DC voltage signals, typically coming from electronic circuit boards. Use this module with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module is a single slot module which can be installed using a DIN rail or directly to a mounting plate. In a CompactLogix system, this module is installed adjacent to any module. If used with a MicroLogix 1500, this module is installed after the base unit, connecting to the communication bus using a ribbon cable.
The Sixteen (16) input channels integrated with the module is compatible to receive 5VDC TTL input signals. It has a configurable input filtering to minimize the effects of contact bounce and transient voltages.
When used with MicroLogix 1500 the module is initially configured via the I/O configuration using RSLogix500 programming software. When used with a CompactLogix system, the module is first inserted by adding the module from the backplane using the RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software.
The 1769-IF16 features Two (2) groups of Eight (8) inputs for isolation. Each group has individual input filtering time with selections varying from 0.0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 5.0 msec for both OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions. Other configurations such as module inhibition and packet interval request are common to both groups of input channels.
It is necessary to remember that TTL inputs are inverted. The Off state signal voltage is within the range of 2.0
5.5V DC while the On state voltage is 0.2
0.8V DC. When used in a program, use a NOT or invert instruction to convert to traditional logic.
