The 1769-IQ16 is a Compact I/O module that is compatible with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers.
It has Sixteen (16) 24VDC sink / source input channels typically used to interface relays and auxiliary contacts, switches, sensors and other switching devices rated for 24VDC. The module has Two (2) groups of Eight (8) input channels which allow mixing of wiring configuration.
The 1769-IQ16 is configured with RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 programming software, depending on the controller used. The module has fine tuning parameters accessible via the programming software such as module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. Module addressing and modules input data files can be accessed using the programming software.
The 1769-IQ16 input group 1 is made up of the first half of the 16 inputs covering channel 0, 1, ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ,7 while the remaining channels 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 makes group 2. The power supply distance rating of 1769-IQ16 is 8 modules. When used in a CompactLogix, the module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. The power supply distance of 8 modules must be followed to maintain a properly configured chassis. If used with a MicroLogix 1500, this module is inserted after the base unit or to any adjacent module after the base unit.
The module can be mounted on a 35 X 75 or 35 X 15 mm DIN rail. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers.
