The 1769-OB16 is a Compact I/O module used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers. This module has Sixteen (16) 24VDC sourcing output channels typically used to energize DC loads such as solenoid actuated valves, relays, pilot lamps, audio/visual electrical components and other control devices.
When wiring the module, terminate the V+ of the load to the DC+ source and DC- of the source to the DC COM terminal of the module. Short the DC+ to the +VDC terminal of the module. The module is shipped with a 1769-RTBN18 removable terminal block for modularity and ease in replacement without the need of total re-wiring.
The module support DIN rail or mounting plate installation. It can be installed to any adjacent module including the controller.
The module can be used with MicroLogix 500 and CompactLogix controllers. Configure using RSLogix500 programming software if used with MicroLogix 1500, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 programming software if used with CompactLogix and depending on the controller revision. The modules configurable parameters include module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number provide a convenient way to fine tune the operation of the module. Further parameterization can be done by accessing the modules input data files. The data files store the status of the input addresses as well as module diagnostics.
External module protection may be installed to increase the module lifespan. Leakage current may be prevented by connecting in parallel a 5.6 k?, ½ W resistor. Use a diode reverse-wired 1N004 across the load for transistor outputs switching 24V DC inductive loads.
