 Warranty Information

All Surplus and Refurbished products come with a 1-Year Automation Webstore Warranty.

 Product Overview

The 1769-SDN is a DeviceNet scanner module used for enabling CompactLogix or MicroLogix 1500 controller communication to a DeviceNet network or devices. The scanner module acts as an interface between DeviceNet devices and the programmable controller. It can be used to communicate with remote I/O devices such as Point I/O, PowerFlex drives, E3 overload relay, MicroLogix 1000 and MicroLogix 1200 through the 1761-NET DNI converter module. Many other setups can be configured.

The DeviceNet scanner connects to the network by looking for partner DeviceNet adapter modules to
Read inputs from slave devices, Write outputs to slave devices, execute messaging and Upload/download programs to a 1764-LRP based MicroLogix 1500 controller. It sends strobe, poll, change of state or cyclic I/O messages to partner devices which is then answered by each client. The DeviceNet scanner organize the receive sets of data and makes it available to the controller.

RSLinx, RSNetworx, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000 are the software tools and programming software required to configure the module. Selection of software depend on the controller used and detail of parameterization needed by the module. As a minimum, RSLinx is required to browse the device from the network. The module generates data table reserved for input and output images.
The 1769-SDN is backplane powered and permits direct installation after the base unit of a MicroLogix 1500 or CompactLogix chassis. The module does not require an external power supply as it receives power from the CompactLogix or MicroLogix communication bus.

When the power is supplied in the Compact I/O bus, the scanner module performs self-test. Upon completion of self-test, the scanner becomes active. The default settings of the scanner module are communication rate of 125kbps and Node address 63.
VIIIVThe 1769-SDN is a DeviceNet Scanner module use to enable connection of MicroLogix or CompactLogix system to DeviceNet devices and network.
