Product Overview
The 1769-SM2 is a single slot communication module that has Three (3) DSI / MODBUS RTU Master communication ports to that is compatible for use with PowerFlex 4-Class drives, MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers as well as bulletin 1769 communication adapters including 1769-AND (DeviceNet Adapter).
The 1769-SM2 communication port supports configuration in Single and Multi-Drive mode each. A single mode channel can support up to Three (3) drives, One (1) per channel, while Multi-drive mode is capable of communicating Five (5) drives per channel. Multi-drive enabled channels can be configured further as MODBUS RTU master, enabling connection to 31 MODBUS RTU slave devices.
The 1769-SM2 supports communication with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex class drives such as PowerFlex 4 drives, PowerFlex 4M drives, PowerFlex 40 drives, PowerFlex 40P drives and PowerFlex 400 drives. When a channel in in Multi-drive mode and configured as MODBUS RTU, PowerFlex class 7 drives can be communicated through 20-COMM-H RS485 HVAC adapters.
The 1769-SM2 supports a wide variety of configuration tools such as PowerFlex 4-Class HIM, DriveExplorer (version 3.01 or higher), DriveExecutive stand-alone software (version 4.01 or higher) or bundled with the DriveTools SP suite (version 4.01 or higher). For PLC based configuration, RSNetWorx for DeviceNet, MicroLogix Programming software RSLogix500 and CompactLogix Programming software RSLogix5000/Studio5000 may be used.
Explicit messaging is supported only by selected controller specifically MicroLogix 1500 LRP series C when used with RSLogix 500 V6.3 and CompactLogix Enhanced controllers L31E, L32E and L35E.
The module has Two (2) colored (Red/Green) status indicators for quick view of the status of the modules health and communication. The module is powered by the Compact bus.
VIIIVThe 1769-SM2 is a Compact I/O to DSI/Modbus communication module. The module is used to communicate and perform data exchange with PowerFlex class 4 and other devices over DSI protocol, PowerFlex class- 7 drives over MODBUS RTU Master.
