Product Overview
The 1794-AENTR is a Flex IO Redundant Ethernet adapter communication module. This module is used to implement redundant ethernet network or ring topology through the redundant ethernet port. The module primary functions are to control real-time I/O information and support messaging for programming and configuration.
This module enables distributed IO solution. Up to 8 I/O modules of any combination may be installed in its local bus. This module is a DIN rail mounted device, supporting half duplex 10 to 100 Mbit data transmission speed, utilization of Ethernet messages encapsulated within TCP / UDP / IP protocol. Ethernet communication port that can be interfaced with an RJ45 Cat. 5 or Cat.6 cable.
This module has a built-in internal diagnostic LEDs such as Module status red/green, Network status red/green, Link 1 status yellow/green and Link 2 status yellow/green. Normal operation shall have all the LEDs displaying green with the link status actively flashing to indicate data exchange.
The modules IP address may be configured using the thumbwheel switches, through the BootP configuration software or by retrieving a previously set address from the non-volatile memory.
The module is shipped with a default address of 999 and DHCP enabled. The digits on the thumbwheel represent that last Three (3) digits of the IP address such as 192.168.1.XXX. The default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and gateway address is set to 0.0.0.0.
When using the BootP software, the modules MAC address must be identified. The MAC address is printed on the sticker located at the side of the module. BootP tool is a free software from Allen-Bradley that is used to set IP addresses of Ethernet Enabled devices. This module also support 3rd party BootP software.
VIIIVThe 1794-AENTR is a communication module used with 1794 Flex IO product Family. It enables Ethernet connectivity and allows implementation of redundant Ethernet network through the dual integrated Ethernet communication port. This module supports DIN rail mounting.
