The 2711-B5A20L1 Human Machine Interface (HMI) provides operator and machine or process workspace in the machine level area of an industry. It allows real-time interaction and updated display of process data and information that provides an accurate reference for proper operator response and decision making.

It is a PanelView 550 that belongs to the Bulletin 2711 PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family. Human Machine Interface (HMI) are also known as Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) or Man Machine Interface (MMI).

For industrially approved installation and maximize the unit’s lifespan, install the hardware in a NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54 and IP65 or any equivalent rated enclosures. Create a panel cut-out according to the cut-out template shipped with the terminal and install the hardware flush mounted to the panel. It has internal circuit protection however, external protection devices may be installed such as surge suppressors, transformer, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and other devices.

Provide adequate space within the enclosure for ventilation. The PanelView device and other components’ heat dissipation must be considered. The ideal ambient temperature surrounding the terminal must be between 0… 55 °C (32…131 °F). Maintain spaces for provision to access the back panel of the terminal for wiring, maintenance, installing a memory card and troubleshooting.

The terminal has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 256 x 128. And display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.). It is operated using the embedded keypad or touch input area. Both input mechanism allows interaction to process and designed to withstand 1 million actuations.

The terminal supports alarm printing through its RS232 printer port. User may print alarm records, alarm description, time-stamp and acknowledgement status for better analysis of the system.
