Product Overview
The 2711-K5A1 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) product of Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley for the bulletin 2711 PanelView Standard Operator terminals. This particular device is a PanelView 550 typically installed in the factory floor area.
This rugged electronic device has 5.5-inch display screen capable of displaying monochrome graphics, texts and symbols. The screen provides the process visualization where machine or process is actively monitored.
The HMI hardwares Remote I/O (RIO) communication port of the allows data exchange between RIO devices over a Belden 9463 cable. RIO can cover long distance thus, this operator terminal can be made to communicate to multiple and separately installed partner devices following a daisy-chain topology. The HMI hardware is particularly capable of communicating to Allen-Bradley devices with support to 3rd party devices with RIO interface. The secondary RS232 port is dedicated for printing alarm records and messages automatically or through a manual or tag trigger. The terminal has Monochrome LCD blue mode display with display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.) and backlight lifespan of 100,000 hr.
Process control is accomplished through the operator terminals Keypad. The keypad assembly is made of Ten (10) Function keys (F1 to F10) which accepts varying functions depending on the assigned local or global function. The key assignments are executed and activated during runtime environment of the system. The 2711-K5A1 rated power supply input range is 85-264V AC, with a frequency of 47-63 Hz.
The operators runtime environment is configured using the PanelBuilder32 software, the legacy software for developing applications for the PanelView Standard Operator Terminals.
