Product Overview
The 2711-K5A14L1 is a Modbus PanelView Standard Operator Terminal. This terminal is especially designed to communicate to MODBUS devices including non-Rockwell Automation products. One major advantage of utilizing this particular product is the capability to implement Power Monitoring systems as Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) used in electrical systems such as Power Meters, Protection Relays, circuit breakers have built-in Modbus communication ports. It may still be used in other applications as MODBUS is a industry standard protocol.
This operator Terminal features a 5.5-inch monochrome screen, keypad input interface and secondary RS232 port for printer interface powered by a 24VDC source.
The RS232 printer interface may be used to print alarm documentation such as alarm message, alarm lists, alarm status and timestamps. This is part of the advanced alarm handling feature of this operator terminal.
This operator terminal also supports hosting of multiple project files to cater different process and controllers provided that they have common control requirements and communication capabilities. The terminal may only run one application at a time.
The integral Random-Access Memory (RAM) amounting to 170KB is a fixed memory dedicated only for runtime allocation. The 240KB non-volatile memory is an expandable memory that may be used to save operation files including project backup, recipe, data logs, alarm logs, user manual and other files. The memory may be expanded up to 32Mb using an ATA PC Memory card.
