Product Overview
The PanelView Standard Operator Terminal 2711-K5A15L1 is a product by Allen-Bradley for implementing cost effective Human Machine Interface (HMI) solution. HMI devices help improve production efficiency by providing a uniform control response to process events using the pre-defined user interface, reduces safety risks as the operator convenient interacts with the process on a centralized location in the factory floor rather than implementing control by activating one device at a time.
The operator terminal is designed with a 5.5-inch monochrome Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) blue mode display capable of visualizing machine operation and process systems. Operator input mechanism is made using the Ten (10) Function keys (F1 to F10). Maximize the keypad operation by using actuating them with a gloved finger, to protect the key and buttons from filed contaminants such as oil, water, dust and dirt.
Pre-installed with the operator terminal is a ControlNet communication and RS232 for printer communication. ControlNet supports multi-partner communication which enables the HMI to communicate with different controllers or intelligent devices installed in different areas of the factory floor. The RS232 can be configured to send print queues to an alarm printer.
The 2711-K5A15L1 compact HMI hardware supports implementation of terminal and screen security that can be used for enabling and disabling access to sensitive process parameters. The Terminal support definition of users that can be assigned with simple password which can be a combination of characters.
The 2711-K5A15L1 also supports alarm handling that is typically made of active and historical alarms list.
