The 2711-K5A5L1 is a PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family. The operator terminal bridges factory floor commands initiated by the operator and automation controllers and components which hosts the process or machine logic. This operator terminal is used in collaboration with an automated system typically a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

This HMI receives data from the partner devices and consolidated it internally. The HMI may be configured to display a series of pages to display group data, area specific information and parameters. These managed data are displayed to the 5.5-inch monochrome display that has a resolution of 256 X 128 pixels and display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.).

Operator observes the collection of data and use it as reference for implementing control actions. Actions such as opening and closing of valves, initiating sequence, modifying setpoints and parameters, and many other actions. These responses are introduced using the embedded keypad input interface that has Ten (10) functions keys, numeric input, navigational buttons and cursor control keys. Each of the buttons in the keypad are capable of up to 1 million actuations.

Data collection and operator response are sent in binary or analog data format through the communication highway port installed to the terminal. This particular operator terminal supports DH485 communication protocol that allows direct connection to MicroLogix, SLC500 and PLC5 controller while support for other Allen-Bradley platforms is supported through communication adapters and encompass partner modules. 3rd party devices is also applicable as DH485 is an industry approved protocol.

The HMI terminal has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 256 x 128. It has an integrated RS232 port compatible for use with DH485 communication protocol. The integrated RS232 communication port support DH485 protocol in peer-to-peer communication architecture. DH485 is an industry approved architecture that uses RS485 configuration. The 2711-K5A5 has a rated power supply input range of 18 to 32 VDC with nominal input supply of 24VDC. The Operator terminal’s built-in Random Access Memory (RAM) is 170KB and 240KB non-volatile memory. Expand the non-volatile memory by installing an ATA memory card with memory options ranging from 2MB to 32 flash memory.
