Product Overview
The 2711-T5A9L1 PanelView 550 Standard Operator Terminal is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) hardware that is used to provide real-time operator interface to the process, machine or equipment. This operator terminal is industrially approved and designed to be operated in the demanding environment of a plant. It can be used in a wide variety of application in many industries.
The HMI hardware is capable of communicating with Allen-Bradley controller products such as PLC5, SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix systems through the integrated RS232 communication port. This RS232 port supports DH485 protocol. The operator terminal is OPC compliant enabling support to 3rd party devices.
The 2711-T5A9L1 has a monitoring screen with measurement of 5.5-inches. It displays the process mimic, text descriptions, input interfaces, equipment and symbols and other HMI elements.This Operator terminal is fitted with a touch interface enabled by the 128 touch sensitive cells. It is recommended that the touch screen to be operated with a gloved finger or stylus with a minimum tip radius of 1 mm (0.040 in).
The PanelView 550 has a built-in 170KB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and an optionally expandable 240 KB nonvolatile memory. The terminal is DC powered and accepts a rated supply of 18 to 32VDC and power consumption of 18 Watts.
For industrially approved installation and maximize the units lifespan, install the hardware in a NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54 and IP65 or any equivalent rated enclosures. Create a panel cut-out according to the cut-out template shipped with the terminal and install the hardware flush mounted to the panel. It has internal circuit protection however, external protection devices may be installed such as surge suppressors, transformer, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and other devices.
Provide adequate space within the enclosure for ventilation. The PanelView device and other components heat dissipation must be considered. The ideal ambient temperature surrounding the terminal must be between 0
55 °C (32
131 °F). Maintain spaces for provision to access the back panel of the terminal for wiring, maintenance, installing a memory card and troubleshooting.
