 Product Overview

The Operator terminal from Allen-Bradley with part number 2711P-B12C4D2 is an automation component that is used to provide visualization and control to enable actual machine or process interaction from a single workplace in the machine level area. It has an embedded keypad and analog touchscreen interface along with a 12.1-inch colored screen for visualization purposes.

This operator terminal has an integrated FactoryTalk Machine Edition runtime that is free and already activated. It is used to run a user-defined application created with FactoryTalk View Machine Edition Station. It also has a terminal configuration to define the terminal settings such as application start-up, runtime behavior, file management, date and time and other settings.

This HMI has 128 MB of Flash and Random-Access Memory. These are individually allocated to function as local storage and runtime user memory.

This HMI device is powered by a nominal supply of 24VDC. Third-party power supplies may be used as long as within the nominal supply or voltage range. Appropriate protections may also be used to further protect the device from electrical, mechanical and environmental disturbances. Some of these are properly sized circuit breakers and fuses, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), shock and vibration absorbers, surge protection devices, appropriate grounding connections, screen overlays and many other options.

The 2711P-B12C4D2 is available only as a spare-part as it has been discontinued by the manufacturer on 12/31/2012. Appropriate replacement part is 2711P-B12C4D8 or a PanelView Plus 6 operator terminal with 2711P-RN20 module for additional Ethernet port.VIIIVThe 2711P-B12C4D8 is a PanelView Plus 6 Terminal from Allen-Bradley.
