The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B7C4A1 is a PanelView Plus 700 Operator terminal that features a 6.5-inch Color active TFT Matrix screen, Keypad operator input, Ethernet, RS232 and DH485 communication port and 32MB / 64 MB integrated Flash memory / Random Access Memory.
PanelView Plus 700 terminals are not actively manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Most of the parts and unit for this product have been discontinued starting the year 2012 including the accessories. This product now is available only as spare part.
PanelView Plus operator terminals is the product line manufactured by that is generally known as Human Machine Interface (HMI). As an HMI device, this product consolidates the data actively collected form the automation units deployed in the factory floor. It also allows interaction to the process or machine that is being controlled. To perform the minimum function of an HMI, this hardware must have a process visualization component, an input interface and communication port.
The visualization component of the hardware measures 6.5-inch diagonal and provides a display resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. One advantage of this operator terminal is the embedded support for colored graphics which may be used to convey information through color coded animations, With colored graphics, even process or machine status may be understood by the operator by just looking at the particular color of the device.
Input interface available for this hardware are the analog resistive touchscreen and keypad assembly with multiple function keys and buttons.
