 Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 2711P-K10C4A8 is an Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 6 Operator Terminal. This product is used as Human Machine Interface (HMI) hardware that enables the capability of controlling a number of machines or processes from a central location in the factory floor. HMI devices are typically installed in the machine level but may also be located in a strategic area of control room.

Windows CE Version 6.0 are pre-installed to any PanelView Plus 6 as standard configuration. Windows CE is an operating system that runs the basic terminal capabilities, similar to the configuration menu of older PanelView operator terminals. Aside from the basic terminal capabilities, Windows CE enables support for advanced functions such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Active X, Window Media Player and browser. With File Transfer protocol, remote files to and from the HMI device may be sent through Ethernet network initiated by typing the terminal’s IP address from a window of any connected computer. Active X control may be used in the machine runtime to allow use of non-Allen-Bradley application in machine runtime. Examples of this are Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, and some other windows application. Windows Media Player with the use of Active X, may be used to play alarm sounds or instructional videos on how to run the system or safety orientations.

This operator panel specifically belong to the PanelView 1000 with 512 MB Random Access Memory (RAM) and nonvolatile memory. Operator interface is through the keypad interface while process visualization screen measures 10.4-inch diagonal, with resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

The device communication ports include a DH485, Ethernet and RS232 ports with USB ports for addition of external peripherals. VIIIVThe 2711P-K10C4A8 is a PanelView Plus 6 Terminal from Allen-Bradley. It comes with a Keypad input area and 10.4-inch colored display.
