 Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T7C4A8 is a Touch operated Human Machine Interface (HMI) that sis built with a 6.5-inch colored screen, integrated Ethernet, DH485, RS232 and USB communication ports and integrated Windows CE software environments.

This HMI device provides process visualization though the colored screen component which has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. It may be used to implement color coded process mimic. The touch input is rated for up to 1 million actuations.

The embedded communication ports are designed for legacy and modern communication protocols. The DH485 communication port is especially compatible with legacy devices while Ethernet connectivity offers a more economical scalability, as it does not require specialized communication converters to be able to interface with modern control systems. The RS232 terminal is intended for short distance and peer-to-peer communication. These Three (3) communication ports are exclusively used for data exchange communication. The dual USB communication port is compatible for use in printing, attachment of external peripherals such as keyboard and mouse and serves as hot-swap ports for USB drives.

This device supports remote access and remote file transfer using the VNC and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) feature. Network security must be defined in the configuration menu. Input username, password and domain name for network log-in and account validations.

This HMi has an integral memory of 512 MB Flash and 512 MB random Access Memory (RAM). External storage may be added with the used of Secure Digital Cards with part number 1784-SD1 and 1784-SD2. USB flash drives may also be used using the USB 2.0 ports that is capable of high-speed data transfer and hot-swap function.
