The 1769-OF4 is a Compact I/O module from the Compact I/O product family. The module is designed to provide Analog output signals to drive modulating control elements such as valves, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), indicators, data loggers and other devices.
This module is used with MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. It may also be installed with communication adapter such as DeviceNet 1769-ADN and Ethernet 1769-AENTR adapters.
The 1769-OF4 has Four (4) single-ended output channels configurable for 0-20mA, 4-20 mA, ±10V dc, 0 to 10V dc, 0 to 5V dc, 1 to 5Vdc. The module has an internal Digital to Analog Circuit (DAC) used to convert binary data from the CPU to analog signal. The analog signal may carry information regarding a specific command initiated from a Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) and other input devices. The analog output may also be coming from a conditioning instruction such as a scaling logic or from a control output produced by a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller.
RSLogix500 programming software is used with a MicroLogix500 controller, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000 programming software is used with CompactLogix system. Individual channel configuration can be performed in the software including enabling of channels, output range selection, data format, module inhibition, module description and slot assignment. The module generates a unique data table for each instance of installation where the channel addresses, module mode bits, module state and other runtime parameters can be accessed.
Install as many 1769-OF4 as required in a MicroLogix 1500 controller or CompactLogix chassis with reference to the power supply distance rating of 8 modules. More advanced CompactLogix processor may support more than 16-30 module in the local chassis. Should more than 8 instances of 1769-OF4 is needed, an appropriate system or bank power supply is required. VIIIVThe 1769-OF4 compact I/O analog output module. It has Four (4) channels capable of sending voltage and current output. The output signals may be used to drive modulating actuators and devices.
