The 1769-OF8C is a Compact I/O analog output module that is used to drive analog indicating and control elements such as indicators, data loggers, recorders, modulating valrves, Variable Frequency drives (VFD), Isolators and other instruments and devices. This module is used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix family of controllers. It may installed in the local chassis or to an expansion I/O bank. It may also be installed on a remote I/O system using a DeviceNet 1769-AND and Ethernet 1769-AENTR ethernet communication adapter. This module has Eight (8) single-ended output channels configurable for 0-20mA and 4-20 mA.
Single ended wiring configuration is a compares the signal wire to a reference ground. The module may be installed in appropriately grounded systems and lo noise environment as Single-Ended wiring may easily be affected by external disturbances. The 1769-OF8C has modules series A and B. Series A does not allow the use of an external power supply while series B module allows external 24VDC power. Enable this option in Series B modules by activating the Using external +24VDC Power Source in the programming software.
The module operates by converting the binary data residing at the CPUs memory registers. The analog output captures the data and converts to analog format with the internal Digital to Aanalog Converter (DAC). Data formats are configured using RSLogix500 when used with a MicroLogix500 controller, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000programming software when used with CompactLogix controller. Data formats available are Raw / Proportional data, Engineering unit, Scaled for PID and Percent full range.
Install as many 1769-OF8C as required in a MicroLogix 1500 controller or CompactLogix chassis with reference to the power supply distance rating of 8 modules. More advanced CompactLogix processor may support more than 16-30 module in the local chassis. Should more than 8 instances of 1769-OF8C is needed, an appropriate system or bank power supply is required.
The module performs self-test in the event when module is power cycled. During the power cycle phase, the module may have no indication until the completion of the self-test. Once in active operation, each new value in the output module is compared to the set high and low clamps. High and low clamps prevent the analog output from exceeding the set limits. VIIIVThe 1769-OF8C is Compact I/O analog output module. It has Eight (8) channels capable of 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA current output. The output signals may be used to drive modulating actuators and devices.
