The 1769-OF8V is a Compact I/O analog Voltage output module. This module is used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix family of controllers. This module outputs Voltage signals such as ± 10V dc, 0 to 10V dc, 0 to 5V dc and 1 to 5V dc. It can be used with a variety of instruments and devices as signal reference of modulating valves, Variable Frequency drives (VFD), indicators, recorders and data loggers, isolators, transducers, converters and other devices.
This module is a single slot component that directly mounts to the CompactLogix chassis or beside the base unit of a MicroLogix 1500 controller. The module receives power from the communication bus to operate the internal circuitry however, it is installed in reference to the number of modules from the power supply, this is the Power Supply Distance Rating. Install this module not more than 8 channels from the power supply. Should more than 8 modules is needed, user may include 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4 and 1769-PB4 in the chassis to serve as the I/O power supply.
Eight (8) Single ended Voltage outputs are available in the module. It only has a single group of outputs with resolution of 16 bits plus sign (bipolar) ±10V DC: 15.89 bits, 330 ?V/bit 0
10V DC: 14.89 bits, 330 ?V/bit 0
5V DC: 13.89 bits, 330 ?V/bit 1
5V DC: 13.57 bits, 330 ?V/bit.
Single ended wiring are more susceptible to noise and electrical disturbance than differential wiring. Ensure that proper module and signal grounding is implemented to be able to obtain accurate readings.
The 1769-OF8V has modules series A and B. Series A does not allow the use of an external power supply while series B module allows external 24VDC power. Enable this option in Series B modules by activating the Using external +24VDC Power Source in the programming software.
The module operates by converting the binary data residing at the CPUs memory registers. The analog output captures the data and converts to analog format with the internal Digital to Aanalog Converter (DAC). Data formats are configured using RSLogix500 when used with a MicroLogix500 controller, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000programming software when used with CompactLogix controller. Data formats available are Raw / Proportional data, Engineering unit, Scaled for PID and Percent full range.
VIIIVThe 1769-OF8V is Compact I/O analog output module. It has Eight (8) channels capable of ± 10V dc, 0 to 10V dc, 0 to 5V dc and 1 to 5V dc Voltage output. The output signals may be used to drive modulating actuators and devices.
