 Product Overview

The 1769-ACN is a DIN Rail mounted Flex I/O communication module which features a single ControlNet port. This product belongs to the 1794 Product family that is primarily used for implementing space saving, high-density remote I/O modules. This product family supports vertical and Horizontal mounting.

Up to Eight (8) Flex I/O modules may be installed along a single adapter instance. This may be a mix of Discrete Input and Output, Analog Input and Output and specialty modules. It is powered by an external 24VDC supply with rated input range of 19.2V to 31.2V DC including 5% AC ripple with nominal supply of 24VDC. This module has power dissipation of 4.6 W at 19.2 VDC and thermal dissipation of 15.7 BTU/hr. @ 19.2V DC. The power consumption of this module is 400 mA, from external 24V supply.

It has a single ControlNet port which may be used to connect to a simplex ControlNet data highway. It supports 5Mbps communication rate and protocol version 1.25.

Allen-Bradley ControlNet cables may be used with this module specifically, RG-6/U Quad shield coax with part number part number 1786-RG6 for standard-PVC CM-CL2 or 1786-RG6F/A for high-flex applications. 3rd party equivalent ControlNet cables may be used.

This module has built-in LED indicators for local diagnostics of the module. Specifically, the LEDs are used to indicated Communication Port A, via Red and Green for Bad and Good status respectively. Another LED is installed that is used to indicate the I/O status health.

This module is compatible for use with PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix and ControlLogix platforms as distributed I/O solutions.
