Product Overview
The 1794-IA8 is an Eight (8) channel Discrete AC input module which belongs to the compact and modular Flex IO product family. Flex IO modules are used for distributed IO implementation and supports high-density IO designs. This discrete AC input module is typically used to interface signaling device or instruments from the field. This module is a DIN rail mounted hardware that may be partnered to any 1794 Flex IO adapter module.
1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S ,1794-TBN, 1794-TB3K, 1794-TB3SK and 1794-TBNK are the appropriate terminal base for this specific module. The operating voltage category of the 1794-IA8 ranges from 65 to 132VAC while nominal voltage is 120VAC. At 132VAC, the minimum dissipated energy is 4.5 W @ 132V AC while the maximum dissipation is 15.3 BTU/hr @ 132V AC. For the module to treat a signal as logic 1, the minimum voltage level must not be lower than 65VAC while the maximum valid level is 132VAC. A signal shall be treated OFF when a maximum of 43VAC is detected.
Physical measurement of this module is 94 x 94 x 69 mm or 3.7 x 3.7 x 2.7 in. Indicator LED lamps are installed to this input module to aid in quick diagnostic and monitor the actuation of I/O channels. This LED indicators represent each channel as each energize when the channel receives a valid signal and enters the ON-State. This may be used as a troubleshooting tool, to confirm if the signal from the field has reached the module terminal otherwise, the LED remains OFF. VIIIVThe 1794-IA8 is a Flex IO Eight (8) channel AC input module. This module can be fitted with any 1794 Flex IO adapters to implement distributed I/O application.
