Product Overview
The 1794-IC16 is a DIN rail mountable Flex IO module that features Sixteen (16) non-isolated input channels compatible for 48VDC inputs signals. This module is especially used with devices such as Beacon, audible signaling devices and other compatible filed instruments.
This module is compatible for use with FlexLogix controllers such as 1794-L33 and 1794-L34. It is most commonly partnered with any Flex IO communication adapter such as 1794-ASB, 1794, AENT and other adapters for implementing distributed IO solution.
The 1794-IC16 is used with a terminal base. The terminal base provides the input and power terminals and allows installation to a DIN rail. Compatible DIN rails for this module include 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3K and 1794-TB3SK.
This module has a maximum ON voltage of 60V DC, minimum of 30V DC and nominal ON state Voltage of 48VDC. It has a power dissipation of 6.4 W @ 60V DC and Thermal Dissipation of 21.9 BTU/hr @ 60V DC.
A Flex IO rack consists of a Flex IO adapter, terminal bases and IO modules. Any module, including the 1794-IC16 requires backplane connection to the adapter as power and IO exchange is executed in the Flexbus backplane. Most Flex IO adapters support up to Eight (8) Flex IO modules while the 1794-ASB2 supports only Two (2) Flex IO modules. The 1794-IC16 requires 25 mA @ 5V DC.
This module may be used as distributed IO system of legacy controllers such as PLC5 and SLC 500 controller platforms. It is also compatible recent Allen-Bradley controllers such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix system.
This module must be operated within the rated Operating Temperature range of 0 to 55 °C (32 to 131 °F), shock rating of 30g and Vibration rating of 5 g @ 10 to 500 Hz. Ensure adequate protection for mechanical, electrical and environmental interferences is installed to maximize the modules designed lifespan.
