The 1794-IE8H is a Flex IO HART module. It is part of the Flex IO product family of compact and modular modules for distributed IO application. It features Eight (8) non-isolated, single-ended inputs with 16-bit resolution and accuracy of 0.1% Full Scale @ 20 °C (68°F).
HART stands for Highway Addressable Remote Transducer. It is an open protocol that can be used to communicate 4-20 mA analog instrumentation loops.
This module is capable of providing Underrange, Overrange, Remote Fault and Local Fault alarms. Overrange alarm activates if the module receives an input variable exceeding 20 mA. Underrange alarm activates when the input variable is lower than 4 mA. Remote fault alarm indicates the status of the field device attached to the module. It may be usde to cause high and low out-of-range values to be retuned to the controller.
This module requires a terminal base for successful operation. Terminal bases that may be used with this module are 1794-TB3G and 1794-TB3GS. When attaching to the terminal base, the keyswitch position should be in position number 3.
The input channels of this modules are user configurable and uses Successive approximation conversion. Input terminals are : 0 to 2, 4 to 6, 8 to 10, 12 to 14, 17 to 19, 21 to 23, 25 to 27 and 29 to 31.
The module is mounted to the DIN rail together with the terminal base. It has a dimension of 46.0 x 94.0 x 75.0 mm (1.8 x 3.7 x 2.95 in.) with built-in diagnostic LEDs that consists 8 red fault indicators, 8 yellow channel indicators and 1 green for power.
