The 1794-OB16D is a Flex IO outputs module. It has Sixteen (16) 24VDC output channels that can be used to drive relays, indicators, solenoids, motor starters and other devices. It is especially made with built-in diagnostics such as short-circuit protect and detection, Open wire and off state leakage current, Reverse polarity detection.

For short circuit protection, this module is capable of auto reset. This event is detected when both external power and output signal is ON and output voltage is lower than 2V. Open wire and off state leakage current is detected when external power is ON and output signal is OFF. For reverse polarity detection, the module identifies if the reverse polarity supply is greater than 10V minimum. If diagnostic is not used, a dummy resistor must be installed in the input channel to disable the diagnostic capability of the module.

Aside from the built-in diagnostics, this module is capable of performing the basic output module functions. This module operates at a Voltage category of 10 to 31.2VDC output. It has a nominal Voltage output of 24VDC. It provides continuous current of 0.5 A maximum, 8 A per module. This module has physical dimension of 94 x 94 x 69 mm (3.7 x 3.7 x 2.7 in.).

This module requires a terminal base to operate. Compatible terminal base for this module are 1794-1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S. For most Flex IO adapters, up to Eight (8) Flex IO, including the 1794-OB16 may be installed in a single Flex IO rack. Exception applies to 1794-ASB2 which supports only Two (2) modules.

Aside from Flex IO adapter, this module may also be used with FlexLogix Controller or FlexLogix Local IO extender (1794-FLA).
