The 1794-TB32S is a terminal base intended for use with Flex IO modules. This terminal base consists of multiple parts such as Female Flexbus connector, Terminal base unit, Male Flexbus connector, Keyswitch, mounting holes, I/O and power terminals, Locking tab and Lock latch.
This unit is a cage clamp terminal base, compatible for working voltage and isolation voltage ratings of categories 24 VAC / VDC. Recommended wire size for this module is 0.21 to 1.3 mm² (24
16 AWG) stranded copper wire rated at 75 °C (167 °F) or greater with maximum insulation of 1.2 mm (3/64 in.).
It is recommended to use Yellow-Chromate steel DIN rail to ensure appropriate grounding connection. Other DIN rail made of plastic, and aluminum are poor conductors and susceptible to corrosion and oxidation. This may result to break in grounding connection.
Flex I/O terminal bases are not limited or dedicated to one module. One terminal base may be compatible with many other modules. Similarly, Flex I/O modules may support multiple terminal base and not limited to one. This is to provide wiring flexibility and to implement user-specific requirements.
Terminal base dictate the mounting of the module. It may be mounted horizontally or vertically. Always consider heat dissipation and natural air flow. Warm heat tends to rise so a vertically installed assembly may be affected by this. The upper module may be exposed to the hottest temperature due to the heat dissipated by the lower modules. Install proper cooling according to the selected installation. Fan or other cooling elements may be used.
