The 20BD014A0AYNANC0 is a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) which is part of the PowerFlex 700 adjustable frequency AC drives. This product features a compact and scalable hardware for implementing speed control. This particular part number depicts that this drive is especially configured with Vector Control which uses the Allen-Bradley patented Force technology. Rated power input is 480VAC with an output current of 14.0 amperes and power of 10.0 Horsepower.
Vector Control is also known as Field Oriented Control which exhibits tighter speed control and Higher starting Torque. This control is especially designed for drives with dynamically changing parameters during operation which can be achieved with Premiere Integration method. Though configured for Vector Control, this drive still supports the standard Volts / Hz or Scalar control however, Vector control mode provides more advantages as it has an improved performance though costs more than standard scalar control.
As premiere integration is mentioned, this integration is only achieved with the use of CompactLogix or ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) from Allen-Bradley. Additional requirement would be the need of using Studio 5000 Logix designer. The Studio 5000 Logix Designer is the programming software which is embedded with instructions compatible to PowerFlex drives. When these instructions are utilized, a dynamic parameter may be designed. Dynamic parameters are drive operation definitions that may be accepted by the drive anytime in accordance to the triggered routine, tasks or logic of the user program.
This drive has an integral Proportional + Integral (P+I) controller which allows this drive to act as controller as well. This feature is a cost-effective feature as this eliminated the need for a stand-alone controller. P+I control is ideal for fast and moderate processes and most typical control algorithm used. Other functions include Slip compensation, Flying start, Droop control and other features.
