The 22A-D2P3N204 is a PowerFlex 4 Drive that features input voltage of 3-Phase 480 VAC, output current of 2.3 A, power of 1.0 HP or 0.75 KW. It is also built with an integrated keypad and Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) brake installed. This hardware is a Panel Mounted unit inside an IP20 / NEMA UL Type Open rated enclosure.
As a standard to PowerFlex 4 drives, it is equipped with Input and Output terminal block that are designed to accept hardwired signals from electrical components to control the drive from a remote source instead of the keypad. There are Five (5) Discrete inputs, Three (3) of them are fixed for commanding START/STOP/REV motor actions while Two (2) are programmable to a desired input definition, typically a REMOTE / MANUAL and AUTOMATIC / MANUAL commands. This input channels are capable of Sinking and Sourcing configuration using voltage 24VDC voltage. There are also Two (2) analog Inputs that are individually isolated which is designed to accept 0 to 10 V and 4 to 20mA signals. It also has One (1) Normally open and One (1) Normally closed contact with same common terminal or technically known as Form C contacts.
Shielded and unshielded cables may be used for wiring of Power terminals. This depends on the type of installation. A minimum Insulator rating of 600V at 75°C(167°F) THHN/THWN with recommended copper wire of 15 Mils insulated for dry location are the recommended unshielded cable specifications. Shielded cable specifications must have a minimum insulator rating 600V at 75°C or 90°C (167°F or 194°F) RHH/RHW-2. Single Phase wiring uses terminal R/L1 and S/L2 of the drive while Three Phase wiring use R/L1, S/L2 and T/L3. Similar to motor Forward and Reverse rotation, switching any of the motor leads changes the rotation direction of the drive however with the use of the adjustable frequency AC drive, physical lead switching is not needed. Simply configure the Forward and Reverse rotation parameter and assign the appropriate signal to trigger the rotation direction change.
For integration to higher control systems, the drive has a built-in RS485 communication terminal that can be used in Remote Terminal Unit (RTU). Optional communication adapters such as RS232, LonWorks, BacNet, ProfiBus, ControlNet and Ethernet communication modules may be installed with the module to enable capability of communicating with automation devices.
