Product Overview
The 2711-B6C2L1 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device that enables real-time operator and process or machine interaction through continuous data exchange between controllers installed in the Machine level area.
This HMI hardware is a member of the PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family from Allen-Bradley. This product family runs an application that is developed with the common development software, PanelBuilder32. The 2711-B6C2L1 was discontinued on 12/31/2012 with engineering replacement of 2711P-B7C4D8.
This HMI device has a single DH485 communication port that supports connection to single or multiple partner devices for collecting and consolidating data relative to the actual state of a process or machine. DH485 is an industry standard protocol that can be implemented following RS485 configuration. It may be used to communicate with single SLC 500, PLC 5 or MicroLogix controller. It also supports network communication with multiple partner devices over the DH-485 network.
The HMI device has a 6-inch colored TFT screen which supports colored animations for implementing standard color code schemes or plant specific nomenclature. The screen has a Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCF) Backlight with a half-life of 50,000 hr. It has an appropriate replacement part number of 2711-NL5.
The operator terminal features a dual operator control component that is the Touchscreen and Keypad interface. The keypad consists of Ten (10) function keys, numeric input, navigational buttons and cursor control keys while the touchscreen interface has 128 touch cells distributed in rows and columns to cover the entirety of the screen. Protect the keypad interface by operating with a gloved finger.
