Product Overview
The 2711-B6C5 is a PanelView 600 that functions as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device. It is an industrial component that provides a centralized control of devices and equipment in the machine level of an industrial process.
The 2711-B6C5 is part of the PanelView standard operator terminal product line. Specifically, it belongs to the subset category PanelView 600 Color Terminal. This product is available as a spare part as it has been discontinued on 12/31/2012.
The 2711-B6C5 is a rugged electronic hardware that is fitted with a 6-inch color display. It features VGA resolution of 320 x 234 pixels. The screen has an integrated backlight with a rated half-life of 50,000 hr. The backlight is field replaceable with an appropriate replacement part number of 2711-NL5. The 2711-B6C5 is designed for 85-264V AC power input.
The terminal has dual integrated RS232 ports. The primary RS232 supports DH485 protocol in peer to peer mode. DH485 can cover a maximum distance of 4000 ft using a Belden 3106A cable. DH485 supports RS485 topology. It is compatible with PLC5, SLC500 and ControlLogix controllers. For CompactLogix, a gateway or converter may be needed. This protocol may also be used with 3rd party devices. The secondary RS232 printer port serves alarm printing purpose. Alarm records containing alarm triggers, descriptions, messages, time stamps, acknowledgement status, among others may be printed.
Process manipulation initiated by the operator is entered through the terminals Keypad and Touch interface. The keypad is installed with multiple buttons such as numeric input, navigation and function keys while the touch interface is made with 128 touch cells installed along the screen.
