The 2711-B6C9L1 is a 24VDC powered PanelView 600 that functions as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device. This HMI hardware belongs to the discontinued 2711 PanelView Standard Operator Terminals product line. This electronic hardware has a rugged and compact design, compatible for use in the factory floor where dynamic environment and demanding applications are continuously existing. It is typically installed in a convenient area that is easily accessed by process operators or machine users.

For industrially approved installation and maximize the unit’s lifespan, install the hardware in a NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54 and IP65 or any equivalent rated enclosures. Create a panel cut-out according to the cut-out template shipped with the terminal and install the hardware flush mounted to the panel. It has internal circuit protection however, external protection devices may be installed such as surge suppressors, transformer, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and other devices.

As the HMI device features a scalable hardware, the enclosure space must be sufficient to allow installation of the add-on components. Wiring, troubleshooting and air flow must be considered to maintain the ideal ambient temperature of 0… to 55 °C (32 to 131 °F).

The HMI device has a 6-inch color screen that support implementation of a more informative graphic display through color coded animations. The screen has a VGA resolution of 320 x 234 pixels. This operator terminal is designed for a voltage input of 18-32 VDC, with nominal input supply of 24VDC.

The terminal has dual integrated RS232 port that functions individually and separately configured. The primary RS232 port that supports DH485 protocol is mainly configured using the PanelBuilder32 software. DH485 is an industry approved protocol that may be used as direct communication highway for PLC5, SLC500 and ControlLogix controllers. The secondary RS232 printer port is used as part of the advanced alarm handling feature of the terminal. Alarm records may be printed through this terminal by establishing a connection to a designated alarm printer. Alarm details such as alarm list, messages, alarm triggers, time stamps, acknowledgement status, among others may be printed.

Process interaction is achieved through the terminal’s Keypad and Touch interface. Ten (10) Function keys are assignable to specific runtime objects and functions while touch operation allows direct interaction with the operator terminal. Both interfaces are designed to be actuated up to 1 million actuations.
