 Product Overview

The 2711-K5A2 is an operator terminal that is built with an integral keypad input mechanism, 5.5-inch monochrome screen and DH485 communication port. This device is powered by a 85 to 264VAC input source and pre-installed with a Random Access Memory (RAM) of 170KB and 240KB non-volatile memory. Non-volatile memory is expandable up to 32MB.

This particular product is a spare part material as the entire PanelView Standard Operator Terminal to which the 2711-K5A2 belongs is a discontinued product line. Discontinuation date of the product is 12/15/2014 with designated engineering replacement of 2711P-T6C20D.

PanelBuilder32 is the software used to develop custom applications for this terminal. Using the software, user interface and visualization screens is prepared offline. Internal tests may also be done to enable testing even without the actual hardware.

The Terminal also has an integral configuration mode menu where initial configurations such as screen brightness, RS232 transmission setting, alarm printer configurations may be set-up.

For industrially approved installation and maximize the unit’s lifespan, install the hardware in a NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54 and IP65 or any equivalent rated enclosures. Create a panel cut-out according to the cut-out template shipped with the terminal and install the hardware flush mounted to the panel. It has internal circuit protection however, external protection devices may be installed such as surge suppressors, transformer, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and other devices.
