Product Overview
The 2711-K6C5 is a DH485 terminal that connects to a single or multiple SLC 500 or MicroLogix processors or 3rd party to devices to enable process visualization and centralized monitoring and control.
The part number belongs to the discontinued 2711 PanelView Standard Operator Terminals from Allen-Bradley. This product line is the manufacturers former solution to the Human Machine Interface (HMI) requirement of many industries and applications.
The HMI hardware belong to the sub-category of PanelView 600. It is ideal for use in small applications that requires interfacing to a machine or processes. It may be still be interfaced to a number of machines or process as long as the terminal support and the internal memory can handle. The terminals internal memory allocation is RAM amounts to 170KB and 240KB non-volatile memory.
The HMI device is equipped with a 5- inch display screen. The screen has a modular backlight with a lifespan of 50,000 hr 1/2 life at 25 °C (77 °F) with appropriate replacement part number of 2711-NL5. It has a rated power supply input range of 85-264V AC, with a frequency of 47-63 Hz.
The terminal is installed with a single RS232 communication port for that supports DH485 communication protocol. It can perform integration MicroLogix and SLC 500 controllers using
DH-485 protocol. In a point-to-point configuration, it provides a dedicated connection for high
priority data.
PanelBuilder32 is the development software used to create applications intended for this device. This software requires activation thus, a necessary software tool for the this PanelView family. PanelBuilder32 features an offline development capability and test function. With this, application engineering may be started even without the actual PanelView hardware.
