The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation product with part number 2711-K6C8 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device that is used to enable real time process interaction between operator and machine or process.

This rugged electronic hardware is compatible for use different industries and application where demanding work environment exist and 24/7 operation is required.

The HMI terminal provides visual representation of the process through the 6-inch colored screen. It has a VGA resolution of 320 x 234 pixels. The operator initiates control commands through the embedded function keys that can be given local and global assignments. Aside from the 10 function keys, numeric keys, navigation buttons and cursor control keys are also embedded to perform fixed and specific functions as their name implies. Function key legend inserts may be added to the function keys to provide a quick description of its assigned function. Operator actions include start and stop, open and close, launching system dialog, alarm acknowledgement, user log-in and log-out and other configurable functions.

Data is simultaneously communicated to and from the process by means of the Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port. Data Highway Plus (DH+) is an Allen-Bradley proprietary software capable of implementing multi-node data exchange over a 3-wire conductor as physical layer.

Advanced alarm display can be implemented with the use of historical and active alarms list, pop-up banners and alarm printing via the the built-in RS232 printer port. This printer port can be communicated to an alarm printer to print alarm records containing data such as alarm description, messages, timestamp and other information.
