Product Overview
The 2711-T5A8L1 is a PanelView 550 that functions as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) used to monitor a machine or process to enable a faster response, efficient control and uniform control actions.
The 2711-T5A8L1 belongs to the PanelView Standard Operator Terminal manufactured by Rockwell Automation. It especially supports direct communication to Allen-Bradley controllers via Data Highway Plus (DH+) protocol such as PLC5 SLC 5000, while MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix systems may be communicated through a DHRIO adapter. Support for 3rd party devices is also enabled with the use of Allen-Bradley encompass partners or 3rd party products.
The 2711-T5A8L1 has physical dimensions of 167 (H) x 266 (W) x 106 (D) mm and reinstallation depth of 86 mm (3.39 in.), 118 mm (4.64 in.) with memory card retainer, 207 mm (8.15 in.) with memory card retainer and clearance to insert and remove memory card.
The visualization screen of the operator terminal is made with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with measurement of 5.5-inches. It has a monochrome type screen with backlight capable of 100,000 hr operation. The screen displays the process mimic, text descriptions, input interfaces, equipment and symbols and other object that make up the process being monitored and controlled.
This Operator terminal supports touch operation enabled by the 128 installed touch cells. Operator response is made through this input area that is designed for 1 million actuations.
PanelView terminals are configured with PanelBuilder32 software. It allows remote development of the terminal as well as offline test and configuration. PanelBuilder32 reduces engineering and development time by utilizing the component library.
Controller connections is established with the Data Highway Plus (DH+) protocol. port in multi-drop configuration. Multiple nodes may be connected to the terminal which allows interaction between single or multiple machine or processes.
The PanelView 550 has a built-in 170KB of Random Access Memory (RAM) and an optionally expandable 240 KB nonvolatile memory. The terminal is DC powered and accepts a rated supply of 18 to 32VDC and power consumption of 18 Watts.
