The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B10C4D8 is an industrial component that is used for machine level automation. This electronic hardware provides Human Machine Interface (HMI) solution by establishing connection with automation controllers installed in the field to access user downloaded logic to control machine or process.

This HMI has an integrated Windows CE environment that features a Windows Operating System look and feel terminal configuration environment. It has similar Microsoft commands such as command prompt, file explorer, copy, paste commands, web browser, control panel, disk management and other commands.

This terminal also supports network communication capable of VNC and FTP protocols. VNC allows remote viewing of the HMI while File Transfer Protocol (FTP) supports remote file transfer to the terminal through the network. It may also be used to open Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Wordpad files as it is supported by the terminal.

This HMI also may be used to implement advanced alarm handling systems through the utilization of alarm banners, active and historical alarms list. An improved tag trending feature is also supported by this operator terminal wherein a higher number of tags may be recorded for review and analysis purposes. Another important feature, terminal security is also improved with this terminal as it supports implementation of network security locally or through a network.

These features are configured using the FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine Edition software. This software is developed to act as configuration and graphic development software. It is loaded with pre-designed templates such as alarm, trends and security templates and others as well. It has a library of design and drawing tools for preparing a mimic display and control interface that meets the process requirement.

This HMI features a 10.4-inch colored graphic display, Keypad and Touch input, 512 MB Flash Memory and 512 MB Random Access Memory. It is powered by a DC supply range of 18 to 30V dc with nominal value of 24V dc.
