The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B15C4A8 is a PanelView Plus 6 operator terminal manufacture by Allen-Bradley. This product particularly belongs to the subset category of PanelView Plus 1500 operator terminal. It offers a scalable hardware supporting various add-on components to improve the terminal’s capability and designed for out of the box configuration reducing engineering and commissioning time.

This product is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is powered by an AC supply input ranging from 100 to 240VAC. This HMI device provides monitoring and control capability for operators in the machine level area. Monitoring is enabled by the 15.0-inch, 1024 x 768 resolution, 18-bit color graphic screen. This screen is ideal for large applications and more complex process. It has a dual input interface enabled by the analog resistive touchscreen and keypad assembly consisting of 40 programmable function keys. Both these input interfaces are capable of 1 million actuations.

This terminal has an integral USB port for insertion of external peripheral to further extend the HMI’s capability. The Ethernet is used for multi-partner devices communication, while the DH485 protocol may also do the same but especially intended for legacy devices. The RS232 port is ideal to be utilized in the local perimeter typically, communication within 15 meters or within the panel communication.

Initial start-up of the system requires use of FactoryTalk View Machine Edition configuration menu. This interface allows starting, stopping, deleting and perform file or application management. Remote desktop access through the VNC feature is enabled in this interface. In event of HMI error, an integral Reset switch is built within the controller.
