The 1769-OB32 is a single slot Compact I/O module compatible with MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix controllers. This module is a 32 channel sourcing output module. It outputs 24VDC for use with DC loads such as solenoid driven actuators, motor actuators, relays, pilot lamps, audio/visual alarms and other final control devices.
The module occupies a single slot in the CompactLogix chassis or the MicroLogix 1500 bus. It can be installed directly to a mounting plate of an enclosure or on a 35 X 75 or 35 X 15 mm DIN rail. It can be installed to any adjacent module in the chassis including the controller. When used with a MicroLogix 1500, this module is installed after the base unit.
The 32-channel module has Two (2) input group with Sixteen (16) channel each. The channel groups are isolated and operate on a sourcing output configuration. Each channel has a ON Output delay of 0.1 ms and OFF output delay of 1.0 ms. Current per I/O channel is 0.5 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) and 1.0 A @ 30 °C (86 °F).
The 1769-RTBN18 removable terminal block component allows modularity and simplifies wiring in the event that the module requires replacement. No need to revire all the signals, simply detach the terminal block from the old module, replace the old and install the new module then attach the terminal block to the new module. Connect the external +DC of the signal device to the +VDC and the -DC to the DC COM terminal of the module. It has internal for surge suppression and voltage transients protection for loads with high inrush current. The module itself has a surge current of 2.0 A for 10 ms, repeatable every 2s. It is also recommended to install an external transient and suppression protection to further protect the module from damage. Leakage current may be prevented by connecting in parallel a 5.6 k?, ½ W resistor.
The 1769-OB32 is configurable with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software. It has fine tuning parameters available in the programming software. Inside the software, the modules data files are accessible, displaying the input channel in integer or binary format. This proves to be a helpful feature as the analog value of the channel groups or the individual state of each channel may be easily evaluated.VIIIVThe 1769-OB32 is a compact I/O module with Thirty-Two (32) channel 24VDC source output module.
