The 1769-IF16C is used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module is a High density 16 single ended Current input module. It may be used with standard analog current signals such as 0-20mA or 4-20 mA. The modules current full ranges are 0-21 mA and 3.2 - 21 mA respectively. It has an integrated Analog to digital (ADC) circuitry responsible in converting the received analog reference to digital, binary signal. The converted signal may be formatted as engineering units, scaled for PID, percent range and raw data.
The 1769-IF16C is configured using RSLogix 500 if used with for MicroLogix 1500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software if used with CompactLogix controller platform. Each channel has individual adjustable parameters including parameterization of the input signal type, 0-20 or 4-20 mA. Process alarms may also be configured defining the modules high and low alarm parameters. Other parameters that can be modified using the programming software are input filters, real time sampling, alarm deadband and others. Enables channels automatically activates an integrated open-circuit detection that triggers the under-range error bit of the module. This event can be reported to the controller and categorized as a non-fatal error.
Install the module by locating the guide slots of the adjacent module. Slide the module and establish alignment of the bus connectors. Once bus connectors are aligned, move the bus lever to the left until a clicking sound is created. There should be no strict resistance when installing the module. If resistance is felt when locking the module, inspect the pin connectors located at the side of the module.
