Product Overview
The 1769-SM1 is an single slot communication module with integrated Three (3) SCANport and DPI communication ports. This module allows communication between Allen-Bradley drive or power products. It automatically detects the DPI or SCANport host by performing automatic baud rate detection.
The 1769-SM1 supports installation to a CompactLogix local chassis or expansion bank. When used with MicroLogix 1500, the module is installed after the base unit or adjacent to any other Compact modules. It may also be installed in remote I/O racks headed by any 1769-based adapter such as a 1769-ADN.
Software tools such as PowerFlex HIM, RSNetworx, DriveExplorer (v30.01 or higher) or DriveExecutive (v1.01 or higher) are used to configure the module as DPI. For SCANport configuration, use the controllers programming software. If used with MicroLogix 1500, use RSLogix 500. If paired with CompactLogix, use RSLogix 5000. Only MicroLogix 1500 LRP series C, CompactLogix L32E and L35E C support explicit messaging.
The 1769-SM1 support Two (2) configuration modes such as Controller Mode and Parameter Mode. Controller mode uses the data downloaded to the controller. The module has Two (2) colored (Red/Green) status indicators for quick view of the status of the modules health and communication. The module is powered by the Compact bus.
The 1769-SM1 supports Allen Bradley DPI communication partners including PowerFlex 70, 700, 700H, 700S, Liquid cooled drives, 7000 and SMC flex. SCANport compatible devices are 1305 drives, 1336 REGEN drives, 2364F RGU,1336 PLUS drives, 1336 SPIDER drives, SMC Dialog Plus, 1336 PLUS II drives, 1394 Servo drives, SMP-3,1336 IMPACT drives, 1397 drives, 1336 FORCE drives and 1557 drives.
