The 1794-IB32 is a Thirty (32) channel Discrete input module which belongs to the 1794 Flex IO product catalog. This module is primarily used to interface field-instruments and signaling devices to be used by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in its user program.
This module is compatible for use with any Flex IO communication adapter for the purpose of implementing Distributed IO solution. This high-density module is used with a terminal base for installation to a DIN rail and input and power wiring. The terminal base that may be used with this module are 1794-TB32, 1794-TB32S, 1794-TB62DS and 1794-TB62EXD4X15.
This module is attached to an adjacent Flex IO module in the rack. It is powered by current present in the Flexbus backplane. In most Flex IO adapters, up to Eight (8) 1794-IB32 may be installed. For 1794-ASB2, only Two (2) modules may only be attached.
The input channels are capable of receiving voltage range of 10 to 31.2 VDC with nominal input voltage of 24VDC. This module supports sinking configuration. It has a minimum On-state voltage of 10VDC and maximum of 31.2VDC while the maximum OFF-state voltage is 20VDC.
The module has an adjustable input filtering to allow tuning of input signals. Input filtering may help to prevent false positive and negative detection thus, improving accuracy of the system. Input filtering may be modified through the programming software or via a user program that modifies the input filtering registers.
This module may be used with PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers, provided that the Flex IO adapter is configured as a distributed IO partner of a specific PLC platform.
This module carries certification c-UL-us, CSA, CE, RCM, and Ex. VIIIVThe 1794-IB32 is a Thirty (32) channel Discrete input module which belongs to the 1794 Flex IO product catalog. This module may be used with PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers through a one of the Flex I/O adapters. Once communication is established, the module is treated by the master controller as a local module installed in the backplane. It is included in the master controllers process image to view the status of the connected signal devices.
This module accepts 24VDC voltage signal however, may also be used with other voltage levels through interposing method. In some situation, even with an acceptable voltage level or 24VDC, interposing is also implemented to provide isolation between the signal device and the PLC module. This is done especially in systems where wiring is heavily modified and electrical disturbance is present. One disadvantage of interposing circuitry is that an additional panel space is required as this method uses relays.
