The 1794-OB8EP is a Flex IO module that is used as a discrete output module. This module has Eight (8) electronically fused 24VDC output channels. It is used for energizing devices or Final Control Elements (FCE). Some of these devices are indicators, relays, solenoid, audible alarms and other components.
The modules internal protection operates by opening the fuse when overload is detected. During this fault condition, a feedback is provided to the controller and entered to the diagnostic buffer. The opened fuse may be reset in a variety of options.
This module features a significantly higher output than other output modules. Ordinary modules Current output are 0.5A per channel, the 1794-OB8EP, rated Current is 2.0 A per channel. This module operates at a Voltage category of 10 to 31.2VDC output. It has a nominal Voltage output of 24VDC. It has a physical dimension of 94 x 94 x 69 mm (3.7 x 3.7 x 2.7 in.). Terminal base options for this module include 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TBN, 1794-TB3K, 1794-TB3SK and 1794-TBNK with the most recommended one is the 1794-TB3.
Though the operating voltage category of this module is 24VDC, it may still be used to energize electrical loads that operate in 110VAC / 220VAC. This is done through interposing method. The modules output must actuate a relay with 24VDC coil. The Normally Open (N.O.) contact shall be wired with to the appropriate voltage source to energize the load. Even with same voltage levels, interposing is also an optional protection method to implement especially systems with old wiring. VIIIVThe 1794-OB8EP is a Flex IO 24V dc electronically fused 8 2 A output module. This module has an integrated protection for each output channel. It is compatible for use with any 1794 Flex IO adapters to implement distributed I/O application.
