The Allen-Bradley product with part number 20BD052A3AYNAND0 is a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). The primary intended use of this hardware is to implement control of speed of an AC induction motor.
This product is capable of Vector Control which is applicable for processes that exhibits sudden load change. It also has an integral Proportional + Integral (P+I) algorithm that enables the drive to act as controller as well. P+I is an automatic control algorithm that when tuned properly, maintains a process variable to the desired setpoint. Furthermore, this drive also supports droop control for load sharing application. With Vector control for load changes and droop control for load sharing, this drive is a complete package hardware for implementing complex control strategies.
Not limited to stand-alone functionalities, this drive supports remote commands by way of integration. Typical integration is achieved when hardwired systems are interfaced to the adjustable frequency AC drives I/O terminals. A conventional hardwired control system or a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) may accomplish this typical configuration.
Advanced integration includes the use of Allen-Bradley automation platform such as Studio 5000 Logix Designer and CompactLogix or ControlLogix controllers only. The drive does not require hardwired signals instead, parameters are actively sent over the network and parameters sets may dynamically change according to the triggered routine or task.
This drive also has an integral keypad that may be immediately used for local configuration and operation. This drive is installed with an IGBT brake component with an emission filter.
