Product Overview
The 22C-D012N103 is an electronic hardware that is used to implement speed control of an AC motor. This product is an Adjustable frequency AC drive that belongs to the PowerFlex 400 product family. This product is specifically designed for motors deployed as Fan and pump control element.
This drive must be used with a 3-Phase, input Voltage rating of 380-480VAC, Output Voltage of 0-460VAC, rated output Current of 12.0 A and Power of 5.5 kW (7.5 HP).
This drive is capable of working as a loop controller as it is provided with Proportional- Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. With PID capability, this drive may be used in most applications for controlling process variables such as Pressure, Flow, Level, Temperature, pH, Turbidity and other process variable. PID control is an automatic control algorithm popular in many industries with the primary goal of maintaining the Process Variable with the Setpoint which may be manually defined by the operator or automatically generated by the system.
Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems are one of the typical systems that heavily rely with motors modulated by a VFD. Without modulation, maintaining temperature of a facility is impossible to achieve.
VFD promote energy savings as it prevents the motor from cyclically turning on and off just to maintain the desired magnitude. With discrete control, process variable will keep on fluctuating. With a VFD, control may be maintained anywhere from 0-60 Hz which effectively prevents the motor from starting and stopping cyclically.
