The 22D-D1P4N104 is an Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation product that is used for implementing AC motor speed control. This electronic hardware is a PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency Drive that aside from allowing speed control, eliminates complex wiring, promotes energy savings and increases control efficiency and accuracy.
The 22D-D1P4N104 is a panel mounted hardware rated for IP20 / NEMA UL Type Open enclosures. It has a rated current of 24.0 A, output power of 0.4 kW (0.5 HP). The drives input is 3-Phase 380-480VAC.
AC motors are a common final control element that is used to actuate fans, pumps, dampers, louvers, valves and other devices in a control system. Speed control is performed to allow implementation of a more accurate control system. With the use of adjustable frequency AC drives other control modes may be achieved such as acceleration, deceleration, PID, coast and many others aside from the basic control that include Start / Stop / Jog, Local / Remote and Auto / Manual control. With PowerFlex 40 Drives, these control modes are implemented by wiring signal devices to the built-in I/O terminals of the drive.
Advanced controls enabled by the utilization of the PowerFlex 40 drive include speed modulation and the capability to be used in different control strategies such as Feedforward, Cascade, Auctioneering and other control strategies.
There are variety of ways to achieve Speed control. This may be locally though the digital up and down keys of the integral kepyad or remotely by injecting a speed reference to the drives analog input terminal. This analog input can accept 4-20mA or 0 to10VDC. An external potentiometer may also be used as signal reference with range of 1-10k ohms, 2 Watt minimum. This drive has a Voltage Input rated 380-480VAC, 3-phase and output Voltage of 0-460VAC with rated Current of 1.4 A and Power of 0.4 kW (0.5 HP).
