Product Overview
The 2711-B5A2 is a Product of Allen-Bradley that is used to provide an integrated monitoring and control workplace in the machine level area. It performs the function of a Human Machin Interface (HMI) that provides process visualization, control input area and communication highway interface.
The 2711-B5A2 belongs to the 2711 PanelView Standard Operator Terminal under the subset of PanelView 550 category.
Process visualization is performed through the 5.5-inch monochrome screen. It displays a graphical representation of the process or machine and provides a consolidated view of the process data and status. The screen is paired with a backlight that is designed to operate up to 100,000 hr.
A Keypad and Touchscreen input interface is allocated for operation control, navigation and modification of variables and parameters. The keypad has Ten (10) function keys while the touchscreen has a Touch membrane made of 128 touch sensitive cells arranged in column and rows. Both input interface are recommended to be operated with a stylus or glove finger to maximize lifespan.
The integrated DH485 communication port enables communication exchange to devices, allowing access to the logic program, particularly registers and Boolean addresses to trigger the sequence initiated by the operator.
Interface modules may be attached to enhance the modules communication features and to accommodate other communication setup.

63 Hz. PanelBuilder32 is used to developed custom application downloaded to the terminal. This software is separately purchased allowing offline development and testing of a PanelView application.
