Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B15C4D1 is an automation component that allows operator to monitor and control a process from a central location in the machine level area.
This product is a PanelView Plus 1500 terminal that belongs to the PanelView Plus operator Terminal product catalog, successor of PanelView Standard Operator Terminal. This product is discontinued as well with appropriate product family of PanelView Plus 6 or PanelView Plus 7 operator terminal.
From the product number, this HMI device features a Touchscreen and Keypad interface, 15.0-inch colored graphic display, the largest among the PanelView Plus terminals. It also has an integrated Ethernet, DH485 and RS232 communication port. These ports are used for data exchange and supports simultaneous utilization depending on the supported communication of existing process controllers. Ethernet and DH485 supports multi-node communication while RS232 is capable of point-to-point communication. This HMI terminal has an internal memory of 32 MB Flash Memory and 64 MB Random Access Memory (RAM). Rated power supply input for this device is 24VDC.
This operator terminal is compatible for use with several utilities or tools that is provided by Allen-Bradley to Transfer files or generally termed as Upload and Download and Firmware Upgrade Wizard.
File transfer is primarily done with the use of FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine Edition however, this software is separately purchase and licensed accordingly. If performing a simple upload and download, the File Transfer Utility may be used. File transfer utility tool utilizes the same communication port from the terminal.
For upgrading the Firmware of the device, the Firmware Upgrade Wizard may be started from the terminals settings. Alternatively, Firmware upgrade may be done with the use of a CompactFlash card.
