Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 2711P-K7C4D8 is an operator workstation flush mounted to an enclosure to serve as Human Machine Interface (HMI) in the factory floor area. This device is primarily located to the factory floor or machine level however, some devices similar this product is capable of being deployed remote to the process or machine being controlled. Regardless of the installation location, this product features a 6.5-inch colored active matrix TFT screen, a keypad operator input area, integrated Ethernet, DH485, RS232 and USB communication ports and integrated Windows CE software environments.
This HMI device has configuration menus that is designed for quick commissioning and out of the box configuration of the terminal settings. These terminal settings include Alarms, Diagnostics Setup, Display, Desktop Access Setup, File Management, Font Linking, Input Devices, File Integrity Check, Networks and Communications, Print Setup, Startup Options, System Event Log, System Information and Time/Date/Regional Settings.
Remote deployment is achieved through the integrated communication port such as DH485 and Ethernet Communication port. This communication protocols allow installation of physical cables that covers longer distances to allow remote installation of the HMI. The RS232 communication port is a proven reliable interface for point to-point communication.
This operator terminal requires an application that is made with FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine Edition or FactoryTalk View Site Edition Studio. Out of the 2 software packages, the machine edition version is the most applicable as it is specifically used for operator terminals whereas Site edition is for supervisory function and costs much higher.
