The 1761-L20BWA-5A is a MicroLogix 1000 Programmable Controller made by Allen-Bradley and manufactured by Rockwell Automation. It is part of the MicroLogix product family and is classified as a compact Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). There is a 50,000 minimum for this device’s power cycles and it contains 1 K of EEPROM memory, or about 737 instruction words and 437 data words. This device has 20 digital I/O and has a 24 Volt input type. It has a relay output type and a 120/240 Volt power supply. The hardware comes with 4 inputs and 1 output for its analog I/O. Electrostatic discharge rating for this controller is EN 61000-2 at 8000 Volts. Terminal screw torque is rated at 0.9 newton meters (maximum).

In order to install the 1761-L20BWA-5A on a DIN rail, first mount the DIN rail, ensuring that the placement of the controller on the rail meets required spacing recommendations. Next, hook the top slot over the rail. After this has been completed, snap the controller into its proper position while pressing the controller against the DIN. It is recommended that the installer leave the wrap that protects the controller on until the device’s wiring process is complete. To remove this controller from its DIN rail, first place a screwdriver in the latch on the DIN rail (at the bottom of the controller). Next, while holding the hardware, pry down on the latch until the 1761-L20BWA-5A is removed from the DIN. Note that when this hardware is panel or DIN rail mounted, operating shock decreased to 9.0g peak acceleration for panel mounting and 7.0g peak acceleration for DIN rail mounting.
