The 1769-IQ16F is a single slot width module belonging to the Compact I/O family used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has Sixteen (16) input channels able to receive 24VDC input signals. The module can be used in Sink / Source wiring configuration simultaneously.
Sinking and Sourcing refers to flow of the current from the signal device and the module. Field devices terminated to the DC common are sinking filed devices while field devices connected to the positive side (V+) of the field power supply are considered sourcing inputs.
Configure the 1769-IQ16F with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software. Configurable parameters available are input filters, module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. Module addressing and modules input data files can be accessed using the programming software.
The 1769-IQ16F has Two (2) groups of Eight (8) input each. Each group has separate DC common terminals which enables each to operate in either sinking or sourcing configuration. Input group 1 are made up of the first half of the 16 inputs ( 0, 1, ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ,7) while the remaining channels compose (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) group 2. The input groups are isolated from each other.
The power supply distance rating of 1769-IQ16F is 8 modules. This means the module cannot be installed more than 8 modules away from the power supply. There is no limit to the number of modules that can be used as long as the distance rating is observed. The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis.
VIIIVThe 1769-IQ16F F is a Compact I/O module with Sixteen (16) channel High Speed 24VDC input module. This module can be used in sink / source wiring configuration.
